Hi Kathleen,
The lamp arrived today. I just unwrapped it this evening,
and a bit nervously too, as I wasn't sure that I'd
adore it as much as the photograph. And I wasn't sure
it would look good in the room where I planned to
put it. But after setting it in its space, I fell
in love instantly.
I called my mother to hurry over and see it - she
loved it too. And even my boy friend of fifteen years,
who is an absolute curmudgeon (he's an industrial
designer and likes clean-lined, unadorned things)
said it looked "nice" - which for him is a definite
vote of approval. And my nine year old son said it
was beautiful and sat himself in the chair over which
the lamp now arcs. So the entire family approves,
and I'm so very happy with it.
Thank you for sending it out so quickly, and for making
such pretty and fanciful things. You make the world
a more beautiful place. After I live with the lamp
for a while, I'm sure I will start looking in other
corners of other rooms throughout my house to see
if another Antique Artistry masterpiece might fit.
Thank
you again.

Kathleen:
The crane lamp arrived last night, safe and sound,
and is now ensconced in my dining room. You were absolutely
right. I don't think I've seen a more beautiful ensemble:
the wisteria-draped shade is exquisite, especially the
way the beading diffuses and reflects the light, and
the work on the crane and lily pad is so wonderfully
wrought. Where on earth did you find such a piece?
I keep thinking you can't out do yourself and you just keep going on
doing it. I recently had an old friend from San Francisco visit (a real
connoisseur) and he was just blown away by all my beautiful lamps. I can't
thank you enough but at least I can tell you how much beauty and joy they
bring into my life and how admired they are by everyone who sees them.
P.S. As you probably know, cranes are symbols of longevity in the Far East.
Long live this lamp and the memory of its creator!

Dear Kathleen,
Your beautiful shade arrived today - it is much more than I had hoped for - it
is simply "over the top" and it certainly will be the center piece of my new
(old) home. I was a little nervous as I had never before spent so much money
on something sight unseen. It is truly breathtaking and I expect many genuine
thrilling ohs and ahs when it has been installed.
A special thank you goes to Loretta for being so helpful and charming!
Cheers,
